How can I send my products to Google Shopping with MIP?

IMPORTANT:
This method for shipping products to Google Shopping is only accepted for Prestashop stores.

In this post we will see how to send our products to Google Shopping. Before starting the configuration we must have created a Google Merchant Centre account to publish the products. We can create it by clicking on this link.

Remember that, once the account has been created, you must add the website and validate it by uploading the file via FTP. In this article we show you how to do it.

It is essential to correctly configure the terms and conditions of your online store before you publish the products on Google Shopping. In this article we explain how to do this.

First, we must enter the Multi-channel Integration Platform (MIP), and go to the Shopping Engines section. If we have an ecommerce store connected to MIP, Google Shopping is now enabled. Remember that Google Shopping redirects to your ecommerce, and you cannot sell through Google Shopping without having a store to redirect users to. If you have more than one store, you can see them in this section.google-shopping

If you have already started setting up Google Shopping for one of these stores, you will see a result like the following. You can modify the configuration by clicking on the Configuration icon.

If you want to start the configuration from scratch, click on the blue button with the “+” symbol (you can see it two images above).

When you click, the initial configuration page will appear. Enter the Merchant ID and upload the API configuration file in order to give the MIP permissions to publish in the Merchant Center.

Merchant ID: Is the Merchant ID of your Google Shopping Merchant account.

API: Is the file you will create through the following steps and upload to Multichannel (it is essential to activate it and give it the corresponding permissions).

  • Click on Add Key > Create Key

  • Select Key Type> JSON and click on Create.

  • A *.json file will be generated and downloaded, this is the one that you need to upload to the MIP in the first step of the configuration. We will explain how to upload it later

  • You need to copy the Service account ID because you will need it later. If you have not done so, you can recover it once the Service Account has been created by clicking on Service Accounts in the menu on the left.

How to give permissions to your API

Once the configuration file is created, we must go to the account Merchant Centre and add the Service Account Name as a user to give permissions to this user. In the top right menu we click on Users.google shopping users
We add new user by clicking on Users. In the field User Email Address we enter the Service account ID that we have previously indicated should be saved (it is an email of the type *******@************.iam.gserviceaccount.com), we select the role (select Admin and Standard) and save it.
shopping-admin-standardNow go back to the MIP and enter the Merchant ID and your correctly configured API.

Now that we have the generated configuration file, we go back to the MIP, upload it and click Continue. If it lets us continue to the next step, we have done the creation of the API and the connection to the Merchant Centre correctly.

If you get an error, you need to re-check the Merchant ID, API key, and permissions.
