How to make Google index my WordPress blog

By default, your WordPress blog is set up to not be indexed on Google and other search engines.

This way, while you’re drafting your first articles and until they’re ready, nobody can access it when doing organic searches.

Once your blog is ready, you must do the following to start having it indexed:

1. Go to the back-office of your WordPress blog. In the menu on the left, enter Settings > Reading.

2. You will see an option check marked at the end: “Discourage search engines from indexing this site”. You must uncheck this so that your blog begins to position itself. To finish, click “Save changes”.

Please, note!

An important part of search engine positioning is creating a sitemap of your store. We will explain how to do this in this article.
