BigBuy Front Configuration is a module developed for PrestaShop by BigBuy which can personalise the theme of your PrestaShop online store. With this module, you can choose your store colours, as well as add banners, configure the menu and much more. In this article, we show you how to carry out the module configuration step by step.

Firstly, to access the module, go to the left-hand menu and click on BigBuy Front Configuration.

You can also access the module from Modules > Modules Administrator. Search for the module and click on Configure.

Once in the module, you will find various tabs to configure it. We will look at some of these tabs below.

SKIN

In the first tab of the module you can choose the theme colours for your online store. Choose the colours that best suit your business. There is also a Christmas skin so that you can customise your online store for this time of year. Once you have made your choice, click Save.  

HEADER

In the next tab, header, you can configure the different header menus for your online store: main menu, secondary menu and preheader. The images below show you where each of these is located.

Link the categories you want to highlight (a maximum of 10 links) to the main menu. If you wish, enable the secondary menu and the Preheader, and add the links that you want to display.

HOME

In this section, you can configure the look of your home page, from the positioning of the products you want to show, to the type and the banners.

Firstly, you should choose the position of the product tab (middle, top, bottom). After this, choose a product option (new arrivals, featured or best seller). Then, choose at least one category so that it is displayed on the home page.

In this same section, you can upload the banners that you want to display on the home page of your PrestaShop online store. The positioning of the banners is classified as Top, Middle or Bottom. Activate and deactivate the sections depending on whether you want to show more or fewer banners on your home page.

INFORMATIÓN

In the next tab, Information, you should configure all the information relating to cookies, 18+ popup and customer safety and trust.

Activate Cookies notification

Activate the Cookies notification in this section to show users browsing through your website. In this section, you should enter the text relating to cookies and other technologies to improve the user experience.

Activate aged 18+ popup

If your website contains products for persons above the age of 18, you should activate this popup for users to accept in order to access the content of the website. In this section, configure the text and the buttons you want to display.

Activate trust block for the customer

If you activate this section, you will be able to add a block with important customer information (shipments, guarantee, secure payment…). Choose the locations where you want these to appear (page footer, product file, shopping basket and/or when Processing payment). Also add the icons that you want to appear within this block (a maximum of 4).

LINKS MANAGER

From this section you can manage the links that you want to add in the Preheader, such as  offer of the day, for example.

When adding a link, you will be able to configure the following: the URL, the link text, its title, and an image. You will also have the option of configuring whether or not it opens in a new window.

ABOUT

Lastly, in this tab you can find out about the module version that you have installed and the latest version available. You can also update it from here in order to get your module completely up-to-date.

Points to take into account when using the BigBuy Front Configuration module for PrestaShop

• The module is only visible for themes offered by BigBuy
• The image format you use in the module should be jpg, png or gif
• The images uploaded to the module will be adapted to the width allowed for them, depending on the block in which they are inserted. The height to be displayed will be the height of the image
• The links you create should always contain http or https
• The main menu of the theme only allows you to add a maximum of 10 categories
• The maximum number of banners allowed per row is 4
• The tab block allows a maximum of 5 tabs to be displayed, of which 2 can be custom categories (New Items/Bestsellers/Highlighted + 2 custom categories)
• If there is an update of the module it will be automatically detected, but you will need to go to the About section and click on the corresponding button to be able to update it.
