In the following article we explain how to add promotional discounts to products from your ecommerce store. In online stores, discounts are a very useful way to boost sales.

Prestashop allows you to put specific discounts on a group of users. These groups can consist of those you have invited, existing customers or a group that you created.

To assign specific percentages to a group, go to Clients > Groups. At this point you have two options:

1. Create a new group
2. Modify an existing one

Create a new group

To create a new group, you must follow these steps:

1-click on the Add New Group button (1)

2-Select the language in which you want to enter the name (1). Do this same step with all the languages in your store.

3-Type the name you want to give to the group (2).

4-Enter the discount you want to apply (3).

5-Select the price display method (4).

6-Select whether or not to display prices (6).

7-Save.

Modify an existing group

To modify an existing group, you must follow these steps:

1-click Modify on the group you want to modify.

2-You can then see the following fields:

• Select the language in which you want to change the name (1).
• Type the name of the group (2).
• Enter the discount number that you want to apply to that group (3).
• Select the price display method (4).
• Select Yes, to display prices (5).
• Select the categories to which you want to apply the discount (6).
• At this point you should indicate which modules are authorised for that group (7).
